About

A Path Untold is the ever-expansive vision of producer Daniel Merrill, embodying an emotionally-driven, moody and cinematic sound that adventurously blends slow-house, future garage, downtempo, breakbeat and atmospheric elements. His music prioritizes deeply personal expression with an otherworldly, emotive aesthetic and explores dualistic concepts of mystery/discovery, melancholy/triumph, ancient/future, organic/technological, etc. Prior to this solo project, Merrill was 1/2 of the IDM/Downtempo duo Aligning Minds from 2004-2016. Merrill's debut under the A Path Untold moniker was the album "Secret Subtle Light" released in 2015. His subsequent releases have continued to explore and expand in unexpected ways. Notably, his 2020 EP "Lone Dweller" and 2022's full-length album "Sourcery" have received international acclaim for their intricate production and the ability to transport listeners through uniquely evocative soundscapes. "Sourcery," in particular, stands out as Merrill's most ambitious project to date. Released through influential psychedelic art collective The Chambers Project, the album delves into themes of infinity, duality, and boundless consciousness exploration. The artwork by painter Miles Toland complements the mystical and explorative nature of the music. A Path Untold's music has been described as: "Mystical melodic story-telling conjuring into existence the sound of alternate realms of mysterious beauty, intrigue and wonder..."
