About
Guto Lucena is a composer and woodwind player based in Stockholm since 2013. A jazz-educated musician, he holds a master’s degree in jazz performance from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Coming from a family of musicians, he also has a strong connection to classical music. Throughout his career, Guto has explored a wide range of musical styles as a performer, composer, and arranger. His compositions feature rich melodies and intricate counterpoints, blending structured minimalistic ostinatos with echoes of his Brazilian childhood, interwoven with elements of jazz and classical music. Guto’s cinematic soundscapes are influenced by the minimalist style of Steve Reich, Hermeto Pascoal’s Brazilian melodies, the European jazz of Louis Sclavis, and the vibrant, colorful world of Debussy.
