About
Hosini & Jones is a Swedish duo comprising Jonas Engdahl and Rebin Hosini. They met while studying statistics together at Stockholm University, but their musical backgrounds offer some contrast. Jonas played electric bass, guitar and keyboard from an early age and continued this throughout his school life, while Rebin’s involvement was less conventional; he always had an interest in expressing emotions through music, but his true passion lay in experimenting with production software. When composing, the pair try to disconnect from typical structures to focus solely on creating unique musical patterns. Their distinctive style means they often start by experimenting with “stuff that makes no sense”, playing around with beats and trying out different sounds. Despite admitting that roughly half of their production time is spent arguing over different approaches, Hosini & Jones have an unshakeable faith in their composition methods and claim never to have experienced writer’s block. In 2017, the duo released the single “Grön”, following this with the single “Solsting” and the EP “Discover” in 2018.
