About
Ingrid Witt describes her music as “Crying on the dancefloor-pop” – it’s a mix of melancholic melodies, punchy drums, heavy bass, analog synths and unusual lyrics. Born and raised in Stockholm, Ingrid's musical journey started at ten years old when her father bought a synth and installed Cubase on the family computer. She had already started playing piano by then but through cubase she discovered the world of producing and started recording her own songs. After attending various music schools, singing in choirs and studying singer-songwriting, she decided a couple of years ago to start creating electronic pop music for herself and Ingrid Witt was born, with the name borrowed from her grandmother who always dreamt of being a singer. Ingrid is a pop fan at heart but also finds inspiration from other types of music, ranging from jazz and classical music to country and sacral renaissance music. When writing lyrics she draws inspiration from her own life and emotions, creating a raw and honest narration wrapped up in gloomy melodies and electronic beats.
