About
Christian Nanzell grew up in Halmstad, a small town in the south of Sweden. With his sight set on music from an earlier age the only question was when, not if, he would do this for a living. His father, an avid music lover, owned a record shop and Christian remembers going through stacks of records as a kid, marvelling at the artists and bands on the covers. Inspired by his idols, he started playing guitar at the age of 9 and hasn’t put it down since. Nanzell has split his musical persona into multiple projects allowing him to explore different styles and facets of his artistry, Pure Indigo is one of his musical alter egos. The color indigo lies somewhere between blue and lilac on the color scheme and perhaps there’s something to be said about where Pure Indigo fits in musically - “a hybrid between 80’s pastiche and chill lounge” as Nanzell describes it. His latest EP is characterized by a soothing, melodic ambient that gives it a carefree, hazy vibe while earlier tracks like Out Loud Tonight turns up the heat with its tempting groove.
