About

Static Glow Sounds is an electro-acoustic project by Swedish producer and composer Erik Fernholm. Here, he blends his love for the sounds of the ’80s and ’90s with influences from electronica, pop, and contemporary classical music. Through ambient synths and organic beats, he creates colourful soundscapes with haunting melodies and intriguing rhythms. Erik Fernholm began his musical journey as the singer and guitarist in a punk rock band, where he quickly discovered his passion for songwriting and exploring different genres. His punk-driven sound gradually evolved into music inspired by ’60s and ’70s singer-songwriter and pop-rock traditions. This creative evolution led to the formation of the indie rock group Atlantic Driftwood, alongside Anton Sällberg (drums), Hjalmar Hurtig (bass), and Daniel Nordén (guitar). Over the years, Erik’s interest in recording and production continued to grow, culminating in the release of Atlantic Driftwood’s debut album, Shifts, in 2014. In 2018, he ventured further into synth-driven electro-pop with his band Mild Youth. A year later, he expanded his musical reach once again, teaming up with fellow producer and songwriter Staffan Carlén to form the duo Paper Twins in 2019.
