About
Jared Blum is the creator of Vision Heat, a project that is a laser guided, hyper vintage conflation of early to mid 80’s centric production, montage and style. Inspired by countless soundtrack compilations and blog mixes of rare, foreign library and VHS music, Vision Heat varies in production style and technique - deftly genre skipping from moody sci-fi suspense, incidental queues and dramatic scores to uplifting electro-boogie, synth pop and cinematic arrangements. Ultimately so much more than an homage, Vision Heat is a subtle and skilled conjuring of a full spectrum re-imagined past. The “true” story is that Vision Heat Music Solutions Ltd; or now known as ‘Vision Heat’ was an independent library production music house active between 1982-1988. The private pressings were made for limited distribution to smaller budget production houses who specialized in programs for cable television, public access, straight to video and advertising spots. Like all library music companies Vision Heat copied and expanded on the current hits, styles and genres of the day much like the more successful labels KPM, Bruton and Parry. Today all of this music is being re released as archival findings to be rediscovered. Vision Heat is proud to present these works on Epidemic Sound Vision Heat has released 4 LPs : The Chosen Themes Program I & 2 (Root Strata) 2015-16, Supplied Themes - 2024 (Klangwunder Records) and Sickness To Insanity (2014) Self Released Besides Vision Heat, Blum specializes in collage style abstract sound design. He’s been working with Bill Gould (Faith No More, Koolarrow Records) on Talking Book project since 2011 and the two composed the soundtrack to The Eclipse, a Serbian film directed by Nataša Urban which took the first prize at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen in 2022. Today he runs the Klangwunder label and lives in Austin, Texas.
