About
Welcome to the world of Wendy Marcini: a collaborative project created by Felicia Öjemark Wiik and Rickard Nilsson. For many years, ceramicist and music lover Felicia had her workshop next to Rickard’s music studio. While their creative outlets became more and more intertwined over time, Felicia also became an integral part of finalising Rickard’s compositions. For him, she became an increasingly important and trustworthy source for feedback, in order to develop his craft in the right direction. In 2020 they decided to officially start writing and producing music together. This decision was fuelled by the discovery of their numerous shared musical preferences. The most striking common ground was found within the realm of instrumental Jazz and R&B. “One day it simply became obvious for us: it was time to take the leap and start crafting together from scratch”, Felicia says. “As the songs come about, most often we are able to think about the musical aspects in parallel with the visuals, which makes this project and creative process very engaging”. “With Felicia’s expertise in shape and imagery, plus the fact that she characterises Wendy Marcini in our photographies, it’s easy for us to unite around what her music should sound like”, Rickard tells. Felicia adds: “We joked about creating a musical baby together - and suddenly - there she was. Wendy Marcini was born”.
